But his appointment has yet to be confirmed and former Premier League striker Yorke is another name Chiefs have spoken to during their managerial search.

Yorke is also expected to be approached by the Jamaica Football Federation about becoming their next permanent manager.

Jamaica held talks with Yorke before appointing Steve McClaren in July 2024.

Chelsea agree to sell Cucurella to Real Madrid

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sell Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid.

The 27-year-old is currently in the US with the Spain squad and will complete his move after the World Cup has concluded.

Multiple clubs were interested in signing him but the former Barcelona full-back wanted to sign for Real Madrid. He had been linked with a return to Barca, as well as Atletico Madrid and Manchester City.

The fee has not yet been made public, but it is believed to be more than 50m (43.1m).

It's already been very busy summer for incoming Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho, who will officially start work at his new club next month. Deals for Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries and Bernardo Silva have already been secured.

Cucurella made public comments criticising Chelsea's transfer policy and the decision to let Enzo Maresca leave at the start of the year.

He is not considered one of Chelsea's "untouchable" players, which includes Cole Palmer and Reece James.

Chelsea signed Cucurella from Brighton four years ago for 63m.

Spurs announce new Porro deal

Tottenham have announced that Pedro Porro has signed a new long-term contract at the club.

Your Site News understands that it is a five-year deal which includes an option to extend for a further year, with Porro set to become one of the clubs top earners.

Porro had interest from elsewhere, which he was aware of, but has chosen to commit his future to Spurs.

Speaking on the new deal, head coach Roberto De Zerbi told the Spurs website: Pedro is a very important player for us, who has consistently shown his ability to influence matches in both defensive and attacking situations.

As well as his technical quality, I also love his mentality. Every day he wants to work, to learn and to improve, and these are the characteristics that help players reach the highest level.

He understands football in a very intelligent way, and brings energy, intensity and personality to the team.

This new contract is good news for everyone at the Club. We believe in Pedro, and I am excited to continue working with him and helping him achieve even more in the coming years.
